Class Overview:

Over a full action-packed day, students will use LEGO® Spike Essential and Prime to solve fun challenges, build robots, and develop essential STEM skills through hands-on learning and teamwork.

What to bring:

Please pack a nut-free snack, lunch, and water bottle.

We’ll have multiple breaks throughout the day, including opportunities to step outside and enjoy the adjacent outdoor space.

Workshop Highlights:

    For junior primary students new to coding and robotics. Hands-on play meets guided storytelling in this fun-filled intro to building, thinking, and problem-solving.

    Intro to Code Logic: Learn the basics of code sequencing and logic through playful, guided tasks and simple movement control.

    Build with LEGO® Spike Essential: Construct nature-themed creatures and simple machines.

    Code Simple Reactions: Use beginner-friendly drag-and-drop coding to control movement, react to colours, and complete sorting challenges.

    Creative Habitat Missions: Design and build natural habitats and obstacles, applying simple engineering principles while fostering storytelling.

    Team Challenge: Work together to complete a fun, interactive challenge using their coded creations.

    Master Logic and Control: Build confidence with loops, sensors, and conditional statements using SPIKE™ Prime coding blocks.

    Construct Advanced Machines: Engineer complex, multi-functional machines and understand how gears and linkages work.

    Precision Programming Missions: Program robots to execute specific tasks requiring measurement, calibration, and iterative refinement.

    Tackle Engineering Challenges: Apply advanced engineering principles to design solutions for complex building and automation challenges.

    Design Showcase: Present and share their working robotic designs and explain the code powering their machines.
