Class Overview:

Over two action-packed days, students will use LEGO® Spike Essential and Prime to solve fun challenges, build robots, and develop essential STEM skills through hands-on learning and teamwork.

What to bring:

Please pack a nut-free snack, lunch, and water bottle.

We’ll have multiple breaks throughout the day, including opportunities to step outside and enjoy the adjacent outdoor space.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Programming skills: They'll develop essential coding skills by programming robots to solve engaging, real-world challenges.

  • Creative problem-solving: Challenges will enhance their ability to think critically and find innovative solutions.

  • Team collaboration: Students will strengthen teamwork and communication as they work together to build and refine their robotic designs.

  • Engineering design principles: They'll apply engineering principles to construct, test, and evaluate robotics solutions.

  • For junior primary students new to coding and robotics. Hands-on play meets guided storytelling in this fun-filled intro to building, thinking, and problem-solving.

Intro to Code Logic: Learn the basics of code sequencing and logic through playful, guided tasks and simple movement control.

Build with LEGO® Spike Essential: Construct nature-themed creatures and simple machines.

Code Simple Reactions: Use beginner-friendly drag-and-drop coding to control movement, react to colours, and complete sorting challenges.

Creative Habitat Missions: Design and build natural habitats and obstacles, applying simple engineering principles while fostering storytelling.

Team Challenge: Work together to complete a fun, interactive challenge using their coded creations.

  • For senior primary students ready to design, code, and innovate. Tackle real-world city challenges with LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime and next-level coding.

Master Logic and Control: Build confidence with loops, sensors, and conditional statements using SPIKE™ Prime coding blocks.

Construct Advanced Machines: Engineer complex, multi-functional machines and understand how gears and linkages work.

Precision Programming Missions: Program robots to execute specific tasks requiring measurement, calibration, and iterative refinement.

Tackle Engineering Challenges: Apply advanced engineering principles to design solutions for complex building and automation challenges.
