Class Overview:

Over two action-packed days, students will use LEGO® Spike Essential and Prime to solve fun challenges, build robots, and develop essential STEM skills through hands-on learning and teamwork.

What to bring:

Please pack a nut-free snack, lunch, and water bottle.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Programming skills: They'll develop essential coding skills by programming robots to solve urban challenges.

  • Creative problem-solving: Urban-themed challenges will enhance their ability to think critically and find innovative solutions.

  • Team collaboration: Students will strengthen teamwork and communication as they work together to build and refine their robotic designs.

  • Engineering design principles: They'll apply engineering principles to construct, test, and evaluate robotics solutions tailored to urban city exploration.

  • City Shapers™ is a school holiday-exclusive theme inspired by the FIRST® LEGO® League “City Shaper™” challenge — expertly adapted by Rocket Academy into an engaging 2-day hands-on experience for primary school students.

In this immersive camp, kids step into the roles of architects, engineers, and planners as they build, code, and collaborate to reimagine the cities of tomorrow. Through age-appropriate challenges, students explore how we design spaces that are more accessible, resilient, and community-focused — all while learning through LEGO®, coding, and play.

Our holiday program is hands-on, screen-smart, and packed with fun challenges that bring STEM to life.

  • For junior primary students new to coding and robotics. Hands-on play meets guided storytelling in this fun-filled intro to building, thinking, and problem-solving.

    Unplugged Coding Fun
Learn the basics of coding by acting out code with printed blocks — no screens required.

    Build with LEGO® SPIKE™ Essential
Create earthquake-proof towers and bridges using simple motors and sensors.

    Code Simple Reactions
Use beginner-friendly drag-and-drop coding to bring LEGO® builds to life.

    Team Build Missions
Design mini city features like footpaths and gardens using LEGO® and recycled materials.

    Maze Coding Challenge
Program a robot (or a friend!) to navigate a city-themed obstacle course.

  • For senior primary students ready to design, code, and innovate. Tackle real-world city challenges with LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime and next-level coding.

    Code with Purpose
Build confidence with loops, sensors, and conditionals using SPIKE™ Prime coding blocks.

    Engineer Real Machines
Construct cranes, drawbridges, and elevators using motors and smart building systems.

    Robot Missions & Testing
Program your robot to complete helpful city tasks — then refine and retry!

    Solve Urban Problems
Prototype creative solutions for issues like transport and flooding.

    Pitch at the Mini Expo
Present your team’s city innovation and share how it helps shape a better tomorrow.
